SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. Following is Rev. P. C. Bates' summary and forecast:—The southerly winds in the rear of the disturbance which passed eastward last evening caused beneficial rains during the night in several parts, particularly on the southern and eastern coasts of the North Island. Westerly winds have prevailed in the North, but sotilheilics in the South arc now changing to northerliee. The present indications are fora filing barometer everywhere; freshening northerlies and unsettled and cloudy weather for a few days. Rain probable short h on the West Coast and southern district* of the South Island.
