She will be practically a full ship on leaving here, and was already drawing a good deal of water when she arrived here. THE KOTUKU. The Kotuku, which arrived here about 3.30 on Saturday afternoon, felt the ef--1 feet of the strong wind prevailing on ' the trip down from Onehunga. Having ! but little cargo in her and consequently more at the mercy of the wind, she took about 22 hours to do the journey. She got away about a quarter past eleven I ' on Saturday night with about 4000 '■ crates ot cheese, about 10,000 ft of trn- " ber, and the usual quantity of sundries. ■ , THE HIMITANGI. The Regains is to go in clock at Port Chalmers during the Oliristmas holidays. There wit Saturday no fewer than 47 vessels laid up at Sydney in consequence of the coal strike.' There were 40 idle vessels at" Newcastle—steamers, ships, ha nines and harquentincs. A new lifeboat was put on board the Kaniona at Port Chalmers last week to roiilaee the former boat, which did *ot comply with the regulation requiring that the whole crew of a collier shall lie able lo take boat from one side of ■ the vessel in case of accident.
