NEW PLYMOUTH LIEDERTAFEL. Great interest is being taken in the Liedertafel concert which takes place in the Theatre Royal on Wednesday night. Part singing by men only has to be heard to be appreciated. New Plymouth musical people decided that our tinwi was not to be behind the larger centres in the nay of music, so they formed the present Liedertafel. Uutsiders have often suited that our town was not "musical," but we think that after they have Ikm rd what our singers can do they will be pleased to change their opinion. The two ladies who are assisting the society are rapidly coming to the front as public singers. Mrs. Robinson is the fortunate possessor of a line i full contralto voice of good power, which silie uses to the very best advantage. Miss Rosalie Hundley lias a soprano voice of excellent quality, and her rendition of Gounod's "Ave Maria" has to be heard to be appreciated. Members of the society and the orchestra are reminded of the linal rehearsal, which takes place in the Whiteley Hall this evening at 7.30 p.m.
