NEW PLYMOUTH HARBOR.
MR. WILKINSON'S RETRKNOHMfc-x, SCHEME. It will be remembered that at la9t meeting of the New Plymouth Harbor Board Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, of Eltliam, moved to have a committee appointed to consider the question of the Board's staff, with a view to effecting economies. The motion failed to find a seconder, and the mover announced that he wo ifd submit motions to the next nwetmg whioli would compel discussion. In pursuance of His declared intention Mr. Wilkinson has now given notice to move: (1) That the position of deputy harbormaster be abolished, and the harbormaster and deputy harbormaster be notified that their services will be dispensed with at the end of January, 1810. (2) That applications be called for the position of harbormaster at a salary not exceeding €250 per annum. (3) That the employment of a nightwatchman be discontinued, and the present holder of the position be given the usual notice that his services will not be required.
