FARM AND DAIRY.
DAIRY PRODUCE. THE SEASON'S SHLPMEiNIS. A BIG ADVANCE. An analysis of tho dairy produce shipped so far this season shows I Hat compared with the amount exported up to the corresponding dati' of last year there is a very gratifying iiic'rea««. jisf, year the export totalled ]1>7,103 boxes of butter a;id '18,046 cases of cheese, while this season there lias been shipped 21(1,174 boxes of butter and 0(1,751 eases of cheese, an increase of 4!),071 boxes of butter aiul 15,105 eases of cheese. Taking into consideration the cheese shut out of tin l [iinic, about 3001) cases, this means thai there lias been an increased revenue from butter ami cheese of no less than f.U0.000. The figures show thai the iwmise in cheese is not uP great as it was anticipated it would be. and the increase indicated by the figures is not. a fair indication of the ratio of the cheese increase against that of butter. as at the beginning of last season factories having dual plant-.' made butter, owing to shortage on local markets, in September. This year the same factories were practically all on cheese from the start.—Wellington Times.
