OUR GARRISON BAND.
To the Kditofr, Sir, —I am sorry that "Ex-liaiuUimin" did not make himself fully conversant with the facts of his case before writing the letter which appeared in your issue of even date. The remarks in reference to our worthy Mayor (Mr. U. Tiseh) * t were quite contrary to fact. ] may 1 J state that .Mr. Tisch, who is the p res'i- | dent of the band, has been on the homr ' f vary list for years, and has during the past year made donations to the hand funds in a most liberal manner. He is a very live .president, and is held in very high esteem by the members of the band, I feel sure that '"Ex-Bandsman' must have miscoustrued Mr. Tisch's re- , marks on the occasion of the presentation of the new instruments* I thank 'Ex-Bandsman" for his kind wishes, but * I must remind him of that most esseiI tial point so necessary in music, namely, harmony.—l am, etc. ERNEST CLARKE, Secretary Taranaki Garrison Band.
