KING COUNTRY LICENSES.

The'holders of wholesale liquor licences recently granted i n the King Country waited on the Premier to-night in reference to intended lcgishition allccting then-licenses. They asked Hint licenses be allowed to exist until the next elcv tion, when the voie<! of the people could be taken on the subject. Sir Joseph Ward said the. position wus a difficult one. The Uovcrnnicnt was or opinion that licenses should not have been grunted, as it was ag-.unrft the intention of Parliament that there should I be licenses in the King Country, He I sympathised with the proposal that a| vote should be taken.
