of the Union Steamship Company, which lias been formulated and adopted, provides rates of contribution under the clerical scheme (which includes pursera and aSsitant pursers, wharf managers, and superintendents of outdoor departments) as follows! Officers under forty years of age on joining the association, 5 per cent, upon the annual salary; forty years of age and under forty-five, (1 '/ 4 per cent.; forty-five nnd under fifty. 7>/„ per cent.; fifty and under fifty-three",
10 per cent.; fifty-three and under flftvcignt, 12y 3 per cent.; fifty-eight niul under sixty, 15 per cent. Contributions will continue to lie payable at the rate applicable to ngu on joining. The maximum salary on which contributions ore levied or superannuation calculated is £760. The pension during lifo is onesixtieth of the average annual Salary for each year of service, limited to twothirds of the average annual salary, with a maximum of £3OO. 1
