WEDDING CEREMONY.
(JIUV—COLLIS. A pretty and evidently a popular wedding was celebrated at the Whileley -Memorial Methodist Church ou Thursday afternoon, when .Air. John Gray, ot -Masterton, and formerly of New Plymouth, was united in l»e holy bonds of inairinioiiy to .Miss Ethel D. Collis, third daughter 'of .Mr. W. A. Collis, of New Plymouth. A large number of friends witnessed the ceremony, and the service was fully choral as a compliment to the bride and to her father, both of whom were members of the choir. Loving hands had decorated the church interior, the wedding party grouping beneath ii iloral arch from which depended a large wedding bell, from which when the marriage had been contracted came i.lie sound of tiny wedding bells manipulated Uy the choir, the cll'ect being heightened uy Hie shower oi confetti which simuluineuusly fell. The bride was attended by her sister, .Miss Nellie t'uili.-, and her cousins, .Misses Mildred Oxenhiim and .May Collis, the last a wee mite of only four summers. The bride was given away by her father. The bridegroom's host jnan was hi., brother, Mr. James Cray, and .Mr. Stan ley Collis was groomsman. The liev. J G'. Chapman was the officiating minister A.- the bridal party entered the church liu- li.vinn "The Voice that Breathed o ei Eden" was sung, and later in the service "0 Perfect Love'" Mr. (!. 11. White presiding at the organ. The bride won a charming empire gown of white silk with transparent yoke of rich overall ,la. v. nuked sleeves fringed with buttons, and n skirt with u tucked panel and buttons. She also wore a gold pendant, the gift of the bridegroom, aim the (irlhodox veil and wreath, carrying a beautiful shower bouquet of waterlilies and other white flowers and a.! paragu* fern. The two adult bridesmaids wore empire gowns of reseda | green silk-striped voile trimmed wi u ■ dark buttons and silk, and white hats trimmed with heliotrope roses and green velvet roses. They also wore gold pendants, the gift of the bridegroom. Little .Miss Collis wore a white embroidered dress and bonnet with touches pi lavender, and carried a iiasket of lavender flowers; she also wore a gold brooch jpiesciitcd ny ;nc bridegroom. The "Wedding .March" was played as the wedding party left the church. During the afternoon a reception was held l»t the residence of the bride's parents, mud Mr. and Mrs. Gray left by the afternoon train for the Wairarapa, staying 071 route at llawera, Wanganui, and Palmerston North. Amongst the very numerous presents received was a silver cake-basket from the Vvhiteley choir. The bride's travelling dress was' a dark green cloth costume, with hat of cream straw, trimmed with pink roses.
