The men were or, rested in Wanganui, charged with steal- " fii'TCntecn horses, the property of one Muggcridge, a sawmiller of Oha■Kune, and remancjed to Ohaltune this morning. Mr. Patterson, solicitor, of V\ angnnui, applied for leave to have the case withdrawn. Mr, Mackav, who anpeared for the accused, objected unless an order was made for costs. Scr >t. wattie said the horses were in fl.e hands or the police, and they had n bill of about £!) for their keep. After considerable argument, Mr. Kerr, S.M., consented to the withdrawal of the c'l-e conditionally o "ji nIT costs and eharg.-s being paid by Muggoridge, the horses to •Mi returned to the accused.
