The Waitara Racing Club's annual meeting takes place on the club's course at Sentry Hill to-day. The fixture promises to be well up to those of former years as regards racing, but this year the club appears to be unfortunate in its selection of a day. To-day being People's Day at the Taranaki show is certain to affect the attendance at Sentry Hill. All the races have drawn good acceptances, and interesting racing should reward those who make the trip. Special trains -will leave New Plymouth at 10.50 a.m., and Waitara at 11'.15 a.m. Full particulars are advertised in another column.

The Waitara Cup promises to provide a field of ten runners, and the races throughout the day appear to be very open. Of the local horses engaged, St. Kildare, Or. Shimosc, Makotahi, Forward and Timothy arc all in good form, and good reports come to hand of the work done by Taupo, Overtime, and | Marshal.
