Jlarou Droskc, of Wcslphalia, Germany, who is studying colonial conditions, is on a brief visit to New J\yiiioulh.
Mr. J. liower, of the local staff otj the Bank of New Zealand, has rccciveJ notice of his transfer to Wellhigwei, and leaves New Plymouth on Friday morning.
Mr. Wi'kins, first assistant teacher at the Uailnra Slate school, has handed in his resignation. Mr. Wilkins has secured an appointment in Christchureh, where he proposes qualifying for his university degree. Tlie many friends' of Mr. J. Kice, schoolmaster at Turata and formerly of Hell Block, who has been ill for some weeks, will he pleased to learn that he is making good progress towards recovery.
