IX A BAD CONDITION.

' A conference of sawmillere was held here last week, ami it is now reported I that the sawmillinff industry in the Wellington. Hawlte's Bay and Taraanki districts will be in a very bad condition. It is stated that there are very few or- , ders and that a great difficulty is experienced in marketing sawn timber. 'The result is that al! the yards «m <; heavily overstocked. It is considered k. that most, if not all, the mills will clo3e ! : down in the course of a few days for the holidays. Though trade is Jrall now thev anticipated better business after Christmas.
