The Rarawa, it is advised, is to leave early on the morning of Monday, 13th prox., for Wellington where She is t.o undergo cleaning, etc., on the l'atent Slip there. She is to arrive back here on the Wednesday, sailing that night for Onehunga. For the Christmas traffic, from December 15th to 31st, this steamer will make three trips per week, leaving the breakwater on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. THE KOTUKU. The Kotuku left at noon on Saturday for Wellington, with 2000 crates u. cheese, the remainder of the cheese to have been shipped having been shut out from the lonic. The steamer also took about 70 sacks of calf skins. THE WAIMEA. The Waimea discharged her cargo oi coal from Westport on Saturday ana left later for Wellington. THE KENNEDY.
The Kennedy arrived from Waitapu (Nelson) about 1.30 p.m. yesterday wit ! n 23 head of purebred Jersey cattle on account of Mr. Hodgkiason. The vessel got away about an hour later for the Grove (Picton), where she loads cliall for Westport and Greymouth. Captain Wildman, late of the Waimea, is now in command of the Kennedy. THE~RIMU. The Riniu arrived at Optinake at U o'clock on Friday morning but only managed to get one boat load ashore. Her anchor breaking, and as the wind* wis' increasing she left for Wanganui.. She arrived at the latter port on Friday night and was to have left the following night for Opunake and New Plymouth. A NEW SERVICE. It is reported that the Munawat.il Shipping Co. (recently formed) has chartered the wooden steamer Wairau (0.1 tons') from Mr. Perano. lit is probable that she will take up her new running between Wellington and Foxton this week.
