CANADA AND AUSTRALIA UNLIKELY TO FAIL.

The Times, commenting on Sir Wilfrid Laurier's recent statement that the Canadian navy would not participate in a war waged b,v Britain unless the l'urli.imcnt of Canada saw lit, say that such remarks apply to every form of contribution and cooperation for defence. The willingness of tile people and Parliament was essential but Canada and Australia were unlikely to fail in this direction. There were still many difficulties, but the goodwill of Imperial statesmanship was not to be baffled.
