Batcß' summary and {orecast are as follow; — . ~, The barometer lias risen steadi.y everywhere, with moderate to strong southerly winds, except about CooK Straits, where southerly gales have, occurred to-day. At Cape Campbell, Cape Eemont and New Plymouth the weather has been mild and changeable, with Jiirht rain in parts and a thunderstorm in the Bay of Plenty this afternoon. Anti-cyclonic conditions now prevail though not of a settled character. The present indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds over the North Island, and westerly in the northern parts of the South Island, but northerly elsewhere. The weather will probably lw fair in most parts of the country. The weather is somewhat unsettled about the East Cape.
