SENIOR COMPETITION CARRIXGTOX ROAD v. WANDERERS. The turrington road seniors met Wanderers yesterday on the Recreation Sports Ground. A high wind and long- grass militated against a good display of cricket, but the game was very enjoyable, -played in splendid spirit. New Plymouth made a wretch-■< opening, the lirst innings producing onl,-. 13 runs, of which "Mr. Extras" was r" sponsible for three. Ballot took sis wickets for six. Fire Brigade responded with 40. Morey was -very successful with the ball, taking eight for 19. God dart bowled against the wind for the whole innings. The town team did belter next time, scoring 45, Clarke getting six for 14, or fwelvo wickets for 20 runs iu the afternoon.
