SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast: — ' Rain has fallen on the west coast and the southern districts of the South Island, but elsewhere the weather'has been fair. Moderate to strong westerly winds have prevailed north of Kawhia and Gisborne, and northerlies strong to gale about Cook Strait, and southwesterly moderate to strong in the south. The present indications are for probably only temporary rise of the barometer in the south, with moderate to strong southerly winds, and westerly winds in the north, with changeable weather everywhere; showery and oloudy at times in moat parts of the country.
