JERSEY CATTLE. After dairying on the old lines, "th.it so long as a cow gives a fair amount of milk she is good enough," the dairy farmers of the dominion have awakened to the fact that quantity of milk is not all that is required. This knowledge has given a great impetus to breeding Jersey cattle throughout the North Island. With Jerseys you obtain not only quantity, but also quality of mi'K. This fact has been proved at almost every show in the dominion during rhe last few years, where prizes have been given for the best milking cow showing the highest test, for Jerseys have carried off almost every prize. That the much-coveted prizes should be sn awarded has convinced farmers of the benefit of having the Jersey strain in their herds. This season the demand for Jersey cattle in Taranaki has been so great that outside breeders have fell encouraged to send their stock here for sale.
