L WELLINGTON SESSIONS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, November 22. In the Supreme Court to-day, George Groves, alias Williams, on a charge of forgery and uttering at Dannevirke, was sentenced to three years' imprisonment. Prisoner had previously served sentences for a similar otfenee. Alfred Charles Warren, who was retried on « ehaig* of child abduction, pleaded guilty to wrongfully detaining the child, staling thai he did not know the law. Be was ordered to come up for sentence lirhen called upon.

CHRISTCHURCH SESSIONS. Christchurch, Last Night. At the Supreme Court George Allen, who had twenty-lour previous convictions against him, and who stated he had never been before the Supreme Court until the present occasion, was found guilty on two counts of forgery, and Sentenced to three years' imprisonment, Hid will be dealt with as an habitual criminal. Llewellyn Price, who had pleaded guilty (to forgery, was Bentenced toj three years' imprisonment. He was not declared an habitual criminal on account Of his youth.

AUCKLAND SESSIONS. Auckland, Last Night. At. the Supreme Court to-day Walter Clues, alias William Bailey, and Joseph Phillips, alias James Murphy, pleaded not guilty to a charge that on August 30th, at Otahuhu, they did assault »;>e (Tames Clarke, doing him actual bodily harm. The jury returned a verdict oi guilty against both prisoners of a joint Assault, and they were sentenced to a month's imprisonment each. William Preston, for the theft of £2 from the dwelling of Josephine Harrod, Was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment with hard labor. Isabel Sinclaire, charged with concealment of birth, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, the Door of Hope undertaking to take care ot her. James GJbbiS was found guilty of rootling Evelina Morris, a visitor from *iji> Of jewellery and money, and of having assaulted her. He received a sentence Of seven years' hard labor. Harold Boss Anderson, who pleaded guilty to three charges of false pretences, Was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. Bichard John Teoman, found guilty upon two charges of indecent assault, ftnd against whom seven other charges urere pending, was remanded for sentence till Friday.

DUNEDIN SESSIONS. Dunedin, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, John {William Chadwick, who pleaded guilty in the lower court to two charges of forgery, was sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment on each, the sentences to be concurrent, and to commence at the expiry of the sentence grhieh prisoner is now undergoing. William' Brookes, alias Jackson, was found guilty of acting upon a cheque, knowing it to have been forged. Sentence was deferred. The charge ol sheep-steal irig preferred against ,Wm., Johnson Rae was not finished when the Court rose.
