She took away from here 90 toiiß of scrap iron for Dunedin. , THE ROSAMOND. - ' The Rosamond did not arrive here from Onehunga till 4 a.m. yesterday. ' She is to leave at 9 a.m. to-day for Wellington, taking away the usual quantity ! of cargo. ' THE PUTIKI. I 1 The coastal steamer Putiki, which < brought a cargo of coal from Westport I on Thursday, is reported by wire to have left Westport again for New Ply- .' month, and should arrive here this even- i ing. She has 320 tons of coal to ilis- i charge here. •

THE KOTUKU. The Kotuku was expected to leave Westport on Saturday for New Plymouth via Onehunga. She will have about 300 tons of coal for this port.

The Hiuemoa is expected to call here shortly with supplies for Cape Egm ml lighthouse. According to advices received by the Union Co.'s local oll'ice. the Aparima is to leave 'Calcutta for Cyem 'Zealand ports on the 25th hist. Mr. G. H. Scales has chartered the steamer Clan Ogilvie to load a I New Zealand ports for London. The vessel is at present at Banbury loading jarrah for Dominion delivery. Advice has been received thai Mr. T. B. Royden, owner of the well-known fndra line of steamers, has placed an order for the construction of a large steamer for the l.ondon-Australia-New Zealand trade. She will be larger than nnv of the other steamers of the Inc. Several of the Indra steamers, including the Indradevi, Tndralema, and Indraghi.i run in conjunction with the Tyser line The largest shipment of butter made by any one steamer from Victoria mtaken away from Melbourne on the 91 h hist, by the P. and O. steamer Macedonia. ' There are thirty firms, represented in the shipment, and they are acting for 150 different factories and dealers. The consignment comprises nearly 28.000 boxes, and the total value of the butter is estimated at £IOO.OOO. The Macedonia's cargo of butter will !>>• the largest that has ever been taken from Australia on one keel.
