The United States Circuit Court of Appeal, continuing the Missouri Court judgment, ordered the Standard Oil Company, of New Jersey, to be dissolved as an illegal corporation. The {Government's action was directed •gainst the parent organisation and 7U aubsidiary branches for conspiracy, monopoly and restraining trade in several Btates.
The Court also enjoins defendant computes from (paying dividiiids to the Standard Oil Company, o* New Jersey, on such stock, or permitting any combination to vote on such stock. The case goes to the United States Bupreme Court. The charges against 33 branches were dismissed. The judgment led to a selling movement on the New York Exchange. Standard Oil certificates declined 12 % points. Reuter states! that this is one of the Most important and far- ; reafcli|img decisions given in the civil action in the limerican courts.
