At the Supreme Court to-day, a young married couple named Moves were icquittcd on a charge of having made a false declaration under the Marriage Act in stating that the female accused was of legal marriageable age. There was some applause in court when the jury's verdict was announced, but it was quickly suppressed. Wellington, Last Night. Patrick Murphy was acquitted on a charge of stealing £2 from Josvph Pickens in a house in Wellington. AUCKLAND SESSIONS. Auckland, Last Night. At the Supreme Court to-day, Mark Menzies, a colored mail, was found guilty of assault upon a girl of eight years oi age, sentence being deferred. Richard John Yeoman was also found guilty on two charges of assault on a little girl sentence being likewise deferred.
