This match was resumed at Waitara yesterday. In the lirst clay's play Waitara made 9li, and Wanderers lost eight, ■wickets for 72 runs. Yesterday Wanderers resumed batting, hash and McLaren carrying the score to 81 before the latter was bowled. Wanderers were one man short. Waitara coiiiiuenc '<l their second innings, but were all disposed of for 27, Whittle being the destroying element with r > for live oil' seven overs. Requiring 43 to win, Wanderers commenced batting. At 0 McLaren was run out and soon afterwards Lash went out to a splendid one-hand catch by (.'.' Wilson. Cook and Grcatbateli carried | the score to 21, when Cook was bowled I by P. Skelton. On .lack partnering' Greatlratch the latter opened out in ! great style, the two carrying the score I to 44. New Piyuiuuth went in lirst, and put up only 2U, W. Lash taking live wickets for 3 runs, and Bertram! four for (i. Waitara's cll'ort realised the same total, Guddard and Morey taking the wickets, the hitter's average reading seven for 9. The batting of the local men was poorer still next time, and they averaged two runs per man, not one of the side reacning double figures: during the match. However, their fielding was a redeeming feature. Waitara did better in tnoir second venture, scoring 2f> runs for the loss of two wickets.
