SPRING AND WINTER SHOWS. a fair number of members of the committee of the winter show, which is to be held by the Taranaki Agricultural Soiiety, met on Monday evening. Mr. W. Ambury presided. Che quc'stion of providing suitable buildings was discussed at the outset, and it was eventually decided to appoint a subcommittee consisting • f .Messrs' W. Ambury, A. W. Wood, E. Snowball, G. Tisch, and S. J. Smith. .V sub-cuimuittee to draft a schedule wns also appointed, . the members of which are Messrs G. V. Tate, R. Cock, J. Iluigess, 11. King, 11. J. Gilbert, F. Watson and G. Bishop. 'llie secretary was instructed to write to all agents of implement manufacturers announcing the date of the show, etc.

THE SPRING SHOW. Subsequently those members of the sp.ing show committee present discussed further arrangements for the coming show, to be held next month. It was decided lo write to Jlr. W. JLKcnzio, of .Mastei'lon, asking him to act as judge of the draught horses and! fat cattle. Jlr. McKenzie judged these | se.-tions 'at the show held in New Plv-i motit'a in 1007. For the hams and bacon section Jlr. W. llealy will In- asked lo judge, but if he is interested in this branch, then the position will be offered to Jlr. R. Cock. A judge was also wanted for the best design in the fancy butter class. It was decided to ask Jlrs. A. Siandish to act in that capacity, but if she is unable to judge, .Miss Dovenish will be asked to tut as judge. An alteration was made in the schedule by adding the following additional classes: Class for three-year-old hull calved from July I, 1900, in all purebred classes; and class for cow in purebred classes to read from July 1, IflOfi. It was decided that in the parade at the show animals should only wear ribbons which they have won at this show. Jlr. A. Smith gave notice of motion that twelve new names be added to the society's guarantee list.
