Smith America, to New York, escaped from a. cage (Hiring a hurricane and raided tl» steerago quarters and the forecastle, badly clawing several of the passengers ami crew. A hose of" hot wafer ultimately drove the hiiitc to Hie stceragii where it was battened down until the steamer reached her destination, when it was captured.
