Says the W'aikaio Argus:—A valueable consignment of Jersey-cross heifers reached lliuuera a lew days ago from the J'aiiinaki district, whence thev were eo - vcywl by a special train. They were detrained Lucie and driven to tlieir destination on the Tauranga side. The points in connection with the I'iilineisloii show butter fat competition were awarded as follows:—One point lor every 101b of milk in t.hc four davs, and ir> points for every lb of butter-tat. produced. Mr. W. I. Lovelock's Holstein cow, Lady of Clill'side. secured the hrsl prize of ,ClO, giving ao.'llb soz of milk, 3.2 test, equal to U.7lb of butterfal, the points gained being 27:).lo. Mr. • lames Hodges' Lady llettv was placed second, scoring 201J.43 points, having given 18.11b jo/, of milk with a test of 1.1, equal lo 7.J211) of butler-fat. Mr. A Lancaster's Ivniranga was third with l»:i.8 points, the yield of milk having been lUllli Do/., giving a test of 4 4 equal lo 7.lotilb of butter-fat.
