The Shipping and Mercantile Gazette devotes a column to a system of preparing chilled meat before shipment and a process 0 f keeping a cargo wholesome and sweet. A trial shipment from (jueeiisland reached Lolidori by the steamer Marathon in excellent condition. The paper adds that, the underwriters doubtless will be aide to fix a premium sufficiently low not to cripple what promises to be a trade with a great future. Brisbane. November 8. The Marathon's chilled beef was prepared by the Liuley process in specially prepared rooms at the Redbank Meat Works.
