iJy .Telegraph. —Press Association. Dunodin, Night. It is understood that the movement to establish a clerks' union here is meeting with strong support. Nothing definite Trill be accomplished for some little time, but in the meantime information is being obtained with respect to the movements in Auckland, Christchurch, and Nelson. It has not been decided vet whether girl clerks will be admitted to the union. Christchurch, Last Night. A conference of Dominion Fire Boards, suggested by the Christchurch Fire Hoard, is to open at Wellington on 18th instant. Fine weather was experienced for ths holiday, the principal attraction being the Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting at Addington. which was very largely attended. Many business places observed the holiday on Monday, and were open to-day.
