Mr. E. 11. Tribe submitted a plan of the proposed subdivision of his block of live acres in Vogeltown, involving an extension of Norman Street recently approved by the council in another subdivision. lie requested that instead ol having the whole of the new street graded and .stripped of graes, the centre should be left in grass, which would carry all the traffic for some time without going into mud-holes, as must hap* p-n in an unmetalled earth road, without grass, lie pointed out that {(he street was quite level, and that he was willing to deposit a sufficient sum ol money for carrying out the formation when required by. the council.
