Mr. llandley arrived by last night's express. Miss Whitaker, the representative in New Zealand of the Girls' Friendly frocicty, arrived in New Plymouth 'las't evening b t v the mail train. Miss Wliitakor will addres's a meeting of ladies in St. Mary's Hall at 4 o'clock this (Friday) afternoon, upon the work of tiie society she represents, and hopes to form a branch in New Plymouth. Miss Whitaker lias had a large experience in the work of the society at home, and is a talented speaker.
