FIRES.
By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Wednesday. At ail early hour this morning a lire broke out in' a boarding-house in Wicksteed Plsee. Kris an old structure of fifteen or twenty rooms. The fire was confined In- flie efforts of the 'origade to the end nf the building. Ten boarders escaped with meagre clothing. One eV v nan jumped out of an upstairs iidow, sustaining several cuts and bruises and straining a leg, and having his liair singcJT "The owner of the building is Mr. J. W. Mcßeth, and the occupier Mrs. Smith. The building is insured for £175 and the furniture for £3OO, the latter in the Queensland office!
