On Tuesday, 26th October, I held my usual lour-weekly sale of above produce, ai'd submitted a catalogue *of 1380 hides, 80 yearlings, 0008 calfskins, 3150 calfskins, 37 casks ol tallow and 44 tins of tallow, 3 bales and 40 sacks wool, besides horsehair, cowtails, horns, and a small quantity of hones. There was a fi'll attendance of buyers, and prices obtained were decidedly higher than these ruling for some time past. The market for hides was a strong one, and all lines met with excellent competition, and advanced '/id to %A for cow and V4d f)r ox liides. Prices for wool and sheepskins were distinctly firmer, and all lots met with a strong demand at an advance o' I V|d to %d above late rates. Calfskins I met a hardening market, and advanced '.4 d to Id per lb, according to quality, and I am able to report having obtained the highest price paid' in the Dominion for calf, viz.. Is per lb. Tallow advanced 10s per ton. The consistent support accorded this sale by both vendor and purchaser is extremely gratifying, and shows that my efforts to make this one oi the leading sales in the Dominion have been recognised, and is proved by the prices paid for all classes of produce and by the quantity catalogued each month. Owing to the steady increase in the quantity of wool sold at my sa'e, 1 am now having another shed buil.';, and hope to have it ready for my next sale. The building under construction is heing specially built as a wool store, p.nd is to be 100 feet long by 40 feet wide. There will he altogether 15 windows, and 0 sklylig'hts in the foni.fling, as it is necessary to have a well-lighted --bed to 6ho\v wool off to advantage. 1 am also having a new ivool and sheepskin press erected. The buyers will then be able to have their different lots reclassed and repacked at my store and shipped direct, thereby saving the expense of another handling. Wool.—Fleece, medium crossbred 7%d Bd.
