After a desperate hand-to-hand light at Panama on AugusL 25 General Herbert Jeffries, a noted Panama revolutionist, killed Mr. William Chand'cr, editor of the Panama Press, whom lie licensed of writing an article defamatory to Mrs. Claude Guyant, wife of t"/ie United States Deputy Consul-General at Panama.
