In connection with the dispute uetween the two bodies in the second division of the railway service, the Jouil branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants passed a resolution on Saturday night considering iho formation of another society uncal'cd for and detrimental to the welfare of railway men; also protesting emphatically against an alteration in the Arbitration Act as it affects railway men.

The local branch of the Drivers', Firemen's, and Cleaners' Association passed a resolution strongly condemning what it terms "dog-in-the-manger" resolutions nossed by the A.S.R.S., that body not i-cing representative of locomotive men, awl claiming that 80 to 00 per cent, of tie latter are in the association. It justifies its action to obtain sepa t rale recognition and to stand firm to its own council as the only one in which it has confidence.

Dunedin, Monday. The Otago brunch of the Amalgamated Railway Servants is adverse to any amendment in the Arbitration Act or any other Railway Act in the direction of extending official recognition to any other railway labor organisation than the Officers' Institute and the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. The local branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants passed A i esolution that "this meeting against altering the clause referring to our society in the Conciliation and Arbitration Aft, as such action would be I detrimental to the society and railway men generally."
