Another shocking railway accident occurred this afternoon, when during shunting operations at the Hinds u young porter named John Richards, nged about 1!) or 20, caught his foot in the block and fell across the rails' in front of the engine. He was brought into Ashbnrton hospital in a critical state, and the doctor holds out no hope of his ultimate recovery. Richards hail been at the Minds only a few months having been transferred there from Rangiora.
