TIMABIi SHOW. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Timnrii, Last Night. Tho Tuuuru show opened to-day in fine Weaiher. There was a good atteudance. Judging was contined to sheep and a few classes of harness and saddle horses. The entries were a record, but not many outside of Canterbury took prizes.

NEW ZEALAND RIFLEMEN. Wellington, October 2V. Colonel Hughes' and the majority of the members of the New Zealand rille team returned from Sydney by Die Sloeraki to-day. Definitejjromises have been received from Victoria and New South Wales to send teams t.o compete at Trentham next March. Captain Dakn, Secretary of tha National liille Association, New South Wales, will endeavor to come, and Major Payne, secretary of the Commonwealth Council, has practically promised to do so. There is a probability that. General Hood will also come over.

The railway station and the premises of the Farmers' Co-operative Association were broken into last night, but the money secured only amounted to a few shillings, hoots and socks were taken from the Fanners' Co-operative Association.
WANGAXUI FREEZING COMPAXV. Wanganui, Last Xiglil. The animal meeting of the Wanganui Freezing Company was held to-day. Tiie report ami balancelhoet, which showed that the company last year lost ,£l,">.COO were adopted. It was resolved to Increase the capital by BAOO shares at £5 each. It was static that the dii'vtors intended to bring this matter forward some nine months ago, but decided that the time was not opportune to put chares on the market.
