Hates summary and forecast:-The extensive area of low pressure wheih lias prevailed in.the south during the past four days iias been joined by another, which has developed in 1/he north. The low pressures ueiug thus equalised has made barometric gradients Very low and accounts for windj moderating and their variability. The'weather has been generally mild and humid. U'lfe barometer will fall somewhat lower during the nextfew hours, especially iu the north, but in the rear of thfese disturbances is-an area of high pressure which will probably cause heavy southerly weather and heavy ram in most parts of the country, with a cold snap with snow on the Higher levels.
