Bates' summary and forecast:—The barometer has iallen everywhere and westerly winds have prevailed strong and squally south of Kawhia and Castlepoint. Rain nas fallen on the West Coast, and in tae South. . .- . The present indications are for a rise in the barometer shortly in the southern districts, with rain ana colder weather. •Pressure will probably decrease in the North for about 12 or 10 hours, but after that the winds will then also change to the eoathward. Unsettled and stormy weather now probable generally.
