THE CHAMPIONSHIPS. CLASHING OF DATES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. C'hristehurch, Last Niglit. At a meeting of the Canterbury Rowing Association to-night, strong excep-' tion was taken to the date fixed by the Marlborough Association, Janua-y Ist, for holding the championship "c----gatta at Pieton. It was stated filial it the date was adhered to local crews would be unable to compete on account of the date clashing with the Lyttclton regatta, held on New Year's Day. It was resolved to protest to the Marlborough Association, and also to the Council of the New Zealand Association.
