meat area.—Resolved, That, in the matter of allotting sections under the regulalions, tenants lie allowed the option of taking an occupation license with right of purchase, or a renewable lease.

Upon the motion of Messrs Heslop and Connctt. thv follinviia resolution was carried, the Commissioner dissenting: "That this Board is of opinion that tenants who took up land under the Land Act. 1892, are entitled to anv rights • contained therein, and if they have ■complied with the conditions of their leases as provided in the nbovemention"d Act nothing further should be demanded of them."

E. Parrott gave notice of intention to convert the lease-in. perpetuity of section 16, block 5. Ohura, to freehold.— Resolved, that the necessary steps be taken. OHURA COUNTY COUNCIL. The Ohura County Council applied for a portion of Mangaroa township reserve on the Tongaporutu-Maugaroa road to be set' aside as a site for saleyards. Mr. G. C. Stevenson waited on the Board, and explained the object of the application. Resolved that the Board cannot see its way to grant the request. The Council also applied for sections 6 and 7, block 7, town of Mangaroa. to be set aside as a site for countv offices. It was decided to recommend that seetion 8, block 5, to be set aside for the purpose. SMALL GRAZING RUNS. Mr. T. B. Crump appeared before Hie Board and asked if the outgoing tenants of S.G. runs 3 and 4, Opaku, could tak» np new leases on the amended boundaries, withmit competition. He understood that other tenants in the locality were being allowed that privilege.— He was informed that this was not =o, and the land must be re-offered for public competition. GENERAL. F. W. Cribb applied for the lease of section 5, block 11, Aria, to issue.—Acceded to.
K. A. Johansen was granted a renewable lease of a reserve, formerly part soction 11, block 6, Aria, as an addition to his holding. H. N. Zadey was granted a year-to-year tenancy of section 7, block' 9, Aria township.
The application of John Riddle for i lease of section 19, block 2, Aria, for the erection of a butcher's shop, was not entertained.
W. T. McKay waited on the Board in reference to his occupation of sections 5 and 6, block 5, Ohura, and stated that he had resided for about nine months of the year. He a6ked, on account of his young children, to be allowed to continue letting the grazing for another year, when he would build and reside on the land.—Resolved, that six months' extension of time be given in which he must build a suitable house and be resident on the land in a 'oona fide manner.
After reading the report of Crown Lands Eanger Tolme upon the application of the selectors on the Otunui block for a suspension of rent upon their holdings, the Hoard declined the request. The ranger's report on the application of T. J. A. Shepherd for exemption from residence for 12 months was held over. R. Livingstone applied, on behalf of the settlers at Piopio, for a portion of section 1, block 3, Totoro, in the bend of the Mokau river, to be set aside for lccreation purposes.—Agreed to. 11 T. Twiss, ranger, reported having resumed possession of section 8, block 10, Mahoe.—The land will be re-offered under part 3 of the Land Act. J. Wallace was given permission '■> let the' grazing on section 21, block 1, Aria, for 12 months. T. S. Hickman asked the Board to reconsider the application of M. Clark for section 2a, block 1, Ohura.—Not entertained.
T. A. Williams waited on the Board and asked for a re-hearing of forfeiture of section 8, block 11, Totoro.—Forfeiture confirmed. Upon the application of Messrs M<ilone, Anderson and Johnstone it was de. cided to register the transfer of section 3, block 5, and section 10, block 6, Ponatu, from i. 11. Coldup to J. E. Anderson.
J. Fryday wrote with reference to occupation of section 7, block 13, Ohura, end applied to admit C. Rodgers as a partner. He waited on the Board on the matter, as did his father, Mr. X. B. Fryday.—As a result the application was withdrawn, and one for a transfer to Mr. X. B. Fryday substituted.—This will be referred to the Minister. W. H. Ure was granted six months in which to bring up to date the improvements ou section 11, etc., block 1, Taura.kawa. M. Barr wrote with reference to improvements on section 1, block l!i, Omona.—Ranger to verify. 0. Skitrop wrote with reference to deficient improvements on section 8, block 11, Upper Waitara.—Accepted at present, but no transfer will be allowed until improvement's on each section arc brought up-to-date. "A. K. H. Palenski wrote -with reference to non-improvement of section 11, block 11, Waitara—Forfeited. W. Graham, section 2, block fi, Mahoe. and B. Prior, section 5, block 7, Mahoe. reported for non-improvement and deficient improvements respectively, were granted six months' extension. Tlie joint valuation of 11. T. Twiss and J. Heslop on section 3. block 9, Poiialu, to be surrendered by G. Stoekwell. was adopted, and the land will be re-offered. E. Tolme reported on the application of J. Corbett for part of section 3, block 10, Waro, as a homestead site.—The request was declined. An annual lease of part of block 2, Aria township, will be issued to J. H. Brown.
F. TTarmel's application tn lease or purchase a small piece of Crown hind in the Waipuku village was referred to the ranger for a report. •T. Muir, senr., applied for a re-hearing of his application to sub-let sections 5, 48 and 48, block 1, Mahoe, to W. Abbott.—The Board saw no reason to alter its previous decision. ('. A.
