Mr. A. H. Hnlcoinbc has been elected to the Education Board in succession to Mr. Henry Faull, diseased. The other candidates were Messrs. J. Rattenbury and T. Buchanan, of Waitnrn. ] Mr. W. Nichols, having disposed of i his business 10 take up his residence I in Opuniike, has been elected to the posi--1 tiou of conductor of the Opimako Brass Band at a salary of £SO per annum, and loaves Stratford to take up his position on til'' Ist- November.' Mr. Xicliols has, during his residence in Stratfoiu, (lone a very gren I deal for the local I hand, and his services will he greatly missed at Stratford.—Post.
Mr. Hugh Wilson, general manage of Henry Hnyward's enterprises, arrived by the express Inst night, on an inspection tour of the Tnranaki circuit, which is at present being run in conjunction j with West's Pictures. Mr. Haywar.l will lie remembered as the entrepreneur who first brought West's Pictures and the Hrescians through New Zealand. He has now 17 permanent picture entertainments in the dominion, and the one travelling combination. West's Pictures, which visits New Plymouth weekly.
