BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Saturday. A fatal fire occurred at Clive early this morning, the victim being Patrick Keys, unmarried, about 28 years U age. Deceased's mother was awakened by hearing him tail out, and tried to leach his room, but was beaten back by the Haines. Help was summoned, but arrived too late. Nearly everything in the house was destroyed. Mrs. Keys was severely scorched. Her son's bodv wag fougd among the debris.

J At the inquest on the body of Tliome s f Donovan, the young man who was killed- in a lift well at Winder's ironmongery establishment, the Coroner, in Mimming up, said it seemed probable the deceased had gone into the well for the purpose of using the left, when at th? same time the lift was in motion, and he was caught bv the balance weights. He returned a verdict of death by misadventure.
