ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Saturday. A fatal fire occurred at Clive early this morning, the victim being Patrick Keys, unmarried, about 28 years U age. Deceased's mother was awakened by hearing him tail out, and tried to leach his room, but was beaten back by the Haines. Help was summoned, but arrived too late. Nearly everything in the house was destroyed. Mrs. Keys was severely scorched. Her son's bodv wag fougd among the debris.
A BUSHFELLEE KILLED. Whangarei, Saturday. A Maori youth, aged 17, named Koi. noha Mahunga, was killed yesterday afternoon at Horahora (East Coast), while bushfelling. He was crushed ;n----i&tantly to death by a. falling tree. ; FOUND DROWNED. i Hamilton, Saturday. : A man named Robert Frost was found drowned in a lagoon near Taupiri . ( WELLINGTON LIFT FATALITY. } 'Wellington, Last Night. J At the inquest on the body of Tliome s f Donovan, the young man who was killed- in a lift well at Winder's ironmongery establishment, the Coroner, in Mimming up, said it seemed probable the deceased had gone into the well for the purpose of using the left, when at th? same time the lift was in motion, and he was caught bv the balance weights. He returned a verdict of death by misadventure.
