In reply to the request of the London Chamber of Commerce for its support of the proposal for the augmentation of the British Navy, the Montreal Chamber of Commerce agrees that all the autonomous dependencies should participate in tlie Empire's defence, but should conserve their initiative as to the nature and form of sueh participation. '
