On Saturday morning the Tlawcra Acclimatisation Society consigned 44,000 fry to Inglewood to the order of the New Plymouth Society.

The Mangorei Dairy Co. pays out to its suppliers £2207 las Od for September milk, as against £1241 9s 3d last year. The company is now making 50 boxes of butter daily, an increase of 15 on last year.
It has been decided to go on with the proposed winter show at Hawera. A company, with a capital of £3OOO, is t fl be formed to take up the project. It i* proposed to acquire a central site and erect thereon a building covering approximately 17,000 square, feet. Saturday in town was a vile day. It was the first real "mountain blow" th-it we had had for some time, and soon the dust and pebbles were stinging Xh< faces of pedestrians and making tilings generally uncomfortable. The watercarts showed out later in the day. Mrs. Thurlow, wife of a settler at Beck's township in Central Otago, is the mother of triplets. A girl was born in September 30th. and two boys were horn on October 2nd. Such an occurrence is said to occur, on the average, once in every 81)00 births. Jt is a rare circumstance to find three children survive. All Mrs. Thurlow's triplets arc progressing favorably.
It is understood that at the instance of Dr. Findlay, Minister for Justice, tHf Judges of the Supreme Court are considering tin- framing of a new rule to simplify the procedure in applications for probates and administration. It is proposed that such applications may he transmitted by post to tile various registrars of the Supreme Court, instead .jf being liled personally by a solicitor a: at present. It is thought that the nevv practitce will prove very convenient, and will tend to lessen the cost of ob taining probate, etc. At the instigation of Mr. Wilkinson, members of the Harbor Board are to be furnished by the secretary with a return showing the number of men engaged at the harbor, other than those employed in dredging and construction work, and the amount of their salaries, etc. In asking for the return, Mr. Wilkinson said that owing to the reduction in shipping it (should be possible to ef-' feet a saving in working expenses. Enquiries are also to be made as to tha practice of other boards in the matter of charging berthage fees on vessels arriving at the port just before midnight and leaving shortly after it. Says Friday's Dominion:—A considerable amount of local feeling has arisen in Stratford over the transfer of some local bankruptcy proceedings to tie charge of tl}e. Deputy Assignee at New Plymouth. The Minister for Justice, on being asked what was the position of affairs, stated yesterday that when the District Court was abol'ished it was «u-t intended to interfere with the local a.l ministration of bankruptcy estates, and that he intends to issue circular instructions to the various registrars of fne Supreme Court to forward notices of adjudication in bankruptcy to the Depu'r Assignee who resides nearest to the locality in which the bankrupt carried on business.
It is tunny to see ft man in the main street wavering between half-a-dozen different resolves. On Saturday morning a well-known resident was observed to be in a state of painful indecision. He walked along, retraced his steps, and repeated the order. At Inst he decided to go .straight ahead, and the passershy were pleased when his eccentric movements were finished. He afterwards confided his troubles to a friend. He had seen the custodian of a place of amusement, and bethought of asking about a garment that he had left in the building not long before. Face to ficc with the man he discovered that the article of clothing was in use, and evidently had been for some little tinr! He let it slide.
