LIVE STOCK MARKETS. NEWTON KING'S REPORT. At the llaymarket on Saturday there was a fair yarding of pigs, with fair demand. Weancrs made 8s to 12s, stores 13s to 15s, porkers 24s to 35s Gd, calv- J s 3s Gd, horse £4. At Urenui on Monday there was a fair yarding of cattle, bidding for young cattle not being quite 1 so brisk as at prs. vious sales, several lines being passed in at a trifle under reserves. Weanecs made £1 Gs to £1 Bs, mixed yearlings 359 Odj empty heifers, 15-months £2 3< 2-year do. £3 5s to £3 Os 6d; empty Jersey heifers, good quality, £5 2s; 18months steers £2 lis Od to £2 14s 6d, 2-year do. £3 3s to '£3 4s, S'/a-ycar do. £3 12s lid; store cows £1 10s to £2 17s, forward do. £3 7s to £3 Us (Id; fat cows £4 10s to £4 17s, springing cows £4 15s, springing heifers £4 to £5 15s, bull £4 10s, pedigree Jersey bull £ls 10s, shorn hogget* Gs Od. On the same day at Stratford 1 he'd my weekly springing heifer sale, when there was a good yarding, anything showing quality and close up being keenly competed for. I quote as follows: Springing heifers close to profit and In gooil quality £0 10s to £8 2s Gd, ordinary sorts £5 to £.O ss, backward do. .£3 10a to £4 10s, springing cows £G 10s to £8 'is Gd, backward do. £4 2s Gd to £5 10s.
Again on the same day I "held a clearing sale at Tikorangi on account of Mr. A. C. Marr. Despite the wet weather there was a good attendance of buyers, and, notwithstanding that most of the cows had already calved, good prices ruled throughout. Springing cows made £7 to £9 ss, cows in full profit £0 Es to £lO ss, nged cows (winter calvcrs) £4 to £5 10s, Jersey bulls £4 to £9 10s, dray £l2, gig £ll 10s, mower £9 10s, d.f. plough £l3, gelding £.7 10s, mare £2l ss. Sundries sold at usnii rates.
At Stony River on Wednesday .there was a fair yarding. Young cattle we'e in good demand, and practically everything was sold at the hammer. Yearling heifers made 33s 6d to 40s, njixed yearlings 3(te 6d to 3Gs, yearling steers 38s fld to 465, empty heifers 57s to £3 Is 6d, empty Jersey heifers £3 15s, store cows £2 2s- to £3, forward do. £3 Is 'to £3 10s, springing cows £3 10s to £B, springing heifers £4 10s to £5 os, 3-year steers; £3 19* Od to £4 Is, bulls £3 17s fld to £5, hoggets 12s. At Waiwakaiho on Thursday weanors made 18s 6d to 23s fld, mixed yearlings 345,, empty heifers £3 Ms to £3 as (il. 15 to 18-ononths steers £2 3s Od to £2 12s, 2-year do. £3 As, store cows £2 3s 6d to £3, forward cows £3 3s to £3 9s, fat heifers £4, working bullocks £22 per pair, bulls £2 10s to £5. VICKERS & STEVENS' REPORT. There was a good entry of cattle in our Inglewood yards. Bidding was good and prices in advance of late sales. Nearly everything -was sold at the hammer at the following prices:—Mixed yearlings £.l 8s Od to £1 16s, yearling to 15-months heifers £2 to £2 5s 01, yearling to 15-monilhs steers £2 2s od, empty heifers. £2 19s to £3 Os od, 2-year-old steers £3 5s to £3 9s, sto.-e cows £1 15s to £3 4s, poor and backward springing heifers £3 to £4 ss. good do. £5 to £7, old sows springing £2 10s to £3 10s, good young do. £4 10s to £7 ss, bulls £3 to' £4 15s.
AUCKLAND. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report:— Horses: On Friday, at the Durham yards, heavy draughts sold at from £29 10s to £39 10s. medium do. £l9 to £29 10s, haeks and light harness horses £7 to £.15 10s, ponies £3 5s to £7 17s Od. At Papakura on Wednesday wo held our first cattle fair of the season. Grown steers sold at from £5 10s to £7 ss, 2 to 3-year-old do. £2 15s to £5 17s fld 3 to 4-ycar-old do. £5 os to £.O 7s Od, yearlings to 2-year do. £2 3s to £3 los, empty cows £2 2s to £4 10s, heifers £.2 3s to £3 10s.
Cattle: At the Newmarket yards on Tuesday dairy cows sold at from £3 lus to £B, heifers £3 10s to £(j, calves 19s Od to £2 2s. The beef pens were well filled with cattle of good quality. Competition was keen at last week's rates. Oxen sold at 22s per 1001b and cows from 18s to 2Us. Steers sold at from £5 17s Od to £lO 2s (id, and cows from £4 2s Od to £8 7s lid.
Sheep: Tho Newmarket yards were well filled on Tuesday, Wethers sold at trom 14s Od to £1 4s, shorn do. 10s to 15s Od, ewes 13s Od to 10s Cd, shorn do. 9s 3d to 13s Od, hoggets. 14s 3d to £1 2s Od. Lambs, fat 12s to 17s (id. other sorts 9s 3d to lis 9d.
Pigs: Porkers sold at from 19s Od to £1 4s, wcaners 3s to 9s Od, baconers £2 4s to £3.

At Addington livo stock market on Wednesday there were fairly large entries of stock and a good attendance. ' Sheep: Hoggets, extra good wethers, nearly fat, to 14s 8d; medium ewes passed at 14s Id, average lots 12s to 13s; crossbred hoggets, mixed sexes, t) 13s 9d; wether hoggets, medium lis Od to 12s ; culls, 9s Od; wethers, 2 and 4tooth medium 14s Od to 15s Od, good 10s Od, extra good to 17s 3d; ewes, mixed ages, mostly young with lambs, at Bs, all counted; aged ewes with lambs at 7s Bd, passed. ' Fat Sheep: Prime woolly wethers 18s Od to 22s 4d, lighter 10s to 18s, others 14s Od to las Od; shorn wethers lis to 13s Bd, woolly ewes 14s 4d to 20s 3d, shorn, ewes 9s lOd to 10 3 lOd, woolly merino wethers lis 9d to 14s Od, and hoggets 13s 9d to 10s 9d, Beef: Steers made £7 to £lO 12s Od. heifers £5 17s Gd to £S 17s Od, and cows £5 to £8 17s Od. Best steer beet realised 20s Od to 22s Od, medium 18s 0d to 20s, and cow and inferior beef 17s to 18s per 1001b.
A line of fat cows realised prices ranging from £8 to £8 17s Od. Store Cattle: 13 to 18-months sorts realised £2 2s to £2 12s Od, 2-ycar steers £3 10s, 2-ycar heifers £2 10s Od to £3, 21/a-yoar steers £4 8s Od, 3-year heifers £3 8s to £4 ss, and dry cows £1 10s to £4 10s. '
The yarding of dairy cows was a sma!l one, and tho class almost without exception was indifferent. Prices ranged from £3 to £8 ss.
Fat pigs were moderately represented, but the yarding of stores was a largo one. Choppers sold up to £4 15s, heavy baconers 01s to 60s, and lighter 50s to OOs-equal to 4%d to 5d per lb; heavy porkers brought 38s to 465, and lighter 30s to 30s—equivalent to 5%d to 5%d per lb; large stores made 32s to 80s Od, and smaller 25s to 28s; small weaners las to 18s, and well-grown sorts to 225. DUNEDDf. At Burnside stock market there was a medium yarding of fat cattle, 109 being penned. A large percentage was prime heavy-weight bullocks and heife". 1 rices for heavy bullocks were, if anything easier than last week, wh ; 'c medium weights were rather dearer, -s----pccially towards the close. Best bullocks £9 10s to £lO 1.55, extra to £ll 15s, medium £8 5s to £9, inferior £6 10s to £7 10s; heifers £0 5s to £7 15s, extra to £9 17s Od, medium £5 10s to £O. Fat Sheep: Best wethers 18s Od to 'os extra to 25s 3d, medium 10s to 17s ~od' inferior 15s to 15s 6d; best ewes Bs 6J to los 9d, medium 13s to 14s. Fat Lambs: 85 of good to fair quality were penned, and sold from 12s 0d to 24s Od. Pigs: There was a very small entry, and prices were much on a par with last week's rates.
