LOCAL PRESS VIEWS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received October 11, 0.30 p.m. Ottawa, October 11. The Montreal Gaiette doubts the wisdom of charging four millions to capital account for the construction of the Canadian navy. If the taxes are depended upon to meet the cost of the navy then the Canadian people would see what doing their duty meant. The Ottawa Free Press strongly favors Canadian built vessels. If necessary, skilled labor could be brought from Britain.
The Canadian Mail (a Conservative organ) says that both parties will unite with a view to perfecting the Govern* inent'a proposals. ,
