WRECK AT THE ISLANDS.
A NORWEGIAN STEAMER. ALL HANDS SAVED. By Telegraph.—Pres9 Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Uouroto arrived in Wellington harbor to-night from Rarotonga. Shi signals that the Norwegian steamer Ocean Queen (3188 tons) was wrecked on Makatea Island. Lower Archipelago, on or about September 7th. No lives were lost. A NEW VESSEL. OX HER MAIDEN VOYAGE. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received 7, 11.35 p.m. Sydney, October 7. The agents of the Pacific Phosphates Company received a cable to-day that their steamer, the Ocean Queen, was wrecked at Makatea, in the Lower Archipelago. All aboard were saved. There are no other details. The Ocean Queen was a new vessel, 'built especially for the phosphates trade. She was on her maiden voyage, being loaded with phosphates from Ocean Island. She proceeded to Honolulu and left there again early ill August en mute for Sydney, via Ocean Island. Mr. Anindlc, one of the directors o!' he Phosphates Co., was aboard the ill-fated steamer.
