THE ROSAMOND. The Rosamond arrived about 8.30 on Saturday morning from Nelson, Picton and Wellington with about 180 tons of cargo, including 050 sacks of chaff from S'ictou and malt from Nelson. Transhipments were brought ex Moana, from Sydney.; Manuka, from Melbourne; Arahura," from Greyinouth; Moura, from Gisborne and Napier; and Waimate, from London. The vessel left after disI charging for Onehunga, and returns here to-morrow.

COAL FOR NEW PLYMOUTH. The Regulus is due here to-day from Westport with a cargo of coal. The Kotuku, having loaded coal at Westport, is now loading at Greymoulii and is due at this port about Wednesday. She will have about 500 tons to discharge here.

TIIE KOOXVA DELAYED. The Koonya. which was due to-mor-row from Southern ports, has been dolaved by adverse weather. She will not now arrive till Wednesday. DAMAGE TO THE KIKIPAKA. A formal enquiry was held at Wellington on Friday by the Collector of Customs concerning the damage (lone lo the Patea Shipping Company's steamer Kiripaka while coming out of Patea on September 21. The vessel, on being examinef! on the patent slip «t Welling ton. was found to have strained some rivets in her hull. The cost of repairs ran into £4O or .£SO. Fogs greatly interfered with shipping in Hie South Island last week. The new Tyser liner, Star of Canada, which was recently launched by Messrs Harland and Wolff, is expected to leave London on her maiden voyage to Australian and Xew Zealand ports on November 2. She would then arrive at Wellington early in January. The Kapuni. the new steamer built under terms of agreement between tV dairy factories of South Taranaki and the Patea Shipping Company, to trade between Wellington and Patea. is to sail direct from Auckland on Monday, 25th inst. The steamer is built to ean'v 1(10 tons.
