ALLEGED DEFALCATIONS. Palmorston X., Saturday. In the S.M. Court toduv Alex. Muir, till a year ago an employee at t«» |Longlniru freezing works, was charged with theft on thirty-three count*, Involving over £BOO, from the Nation il Mortgage Ageney Comiiany, proprktora of the freezing works. Tie alleged thefts were by means of cheques covering a period from April, 1005, till July, 11)08. Aeensod was atoreman and grader in the tallow department. He was re. nwmled for eight days, bail being allowed in £6OO.
